“The End of Fear and the Politics of Tribalism” with Yogarupa Rod Stryker, Wanderlust Speakeasy 2017

The desire to be part of a group is perennial, with its allure of companionship in navigating our search for meaning and purpose, not to mention the promise that acting in concert with other like-minded souls will make it that much easier to have more of what we want. But the tribe can also embed us deeper into ignorance and speed up a path of destruction. There is an alternative. Enlightened individuality conjoined to social engagement is the basis for seeing that all action and relationships are either: born from fear or from right understanding and true power. Fear generates conflict and suffering and leads us further into desperation and separation, whereas enlightened individuality leads to lasting freedom, fulfillment. If we are to rise above our wounds, perceived enemies and assigned saviors, we must reclaim our spiritual identity and its inherent truths.
