Borja Sainz
Borja began his journey at the age of 19 with his first teacher, his aunt, who was a yoga teacher back in the USA. He began his path as a teacher at the age of 25 and nowadays his teachings are a reflection of his practice – Integrating the contemporary aspects of applied biomechanics into the practice of asana and the depth of the traditions of Yoga, Tantra and Ayurveda through the teachings of his much respected teacher, Yogarupa Rod Stryker.
Additionally, he has studied extensively with renowned teachers like Doug Keller, Noah Maze or James Mallinson. All this experience is translated in a unique capacity to develop his teachings depending on the focus of the student. Borja specializes in biomechanics and energetic vinyasa sequencing as well as traditional Hatha Yoga informed by the Parayoga lineage in which he was initiated by Yogarupa in 2019.
Borja is the founder of Lighthouse Yoga in Madrid, Spain, a school focused on advanced teacher trainings as well as Yogabasement, his personal learning platform in which he and his wife lead classes, courses and online trainings.
