Sold Out! The Yoga of Awakening: Teachings from the Yoga Taravali with Yogarupa Rod Stryker at the Himalayan Institute Retreat Center

Rod Stryker | March 5, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - March 8, 2020 @ 12:30 pm

Event Navigation

This intensive will focus on the sacred scripture, The Yoga Taravali, which the great teacher T. Krishnamacharya described as “one of the best poems on the message of yoga.” Written in the 8th century by the great sage Shankara, the text outlines a systematic approach to scaling the heights of yoga practice. Asana, bandha, pranayama, kriya, meditation, yoga nidra—transcendence—are all described. Through discourse and practice, Yogarupa will highlight parts of the text that lead to the final culmination of Yoga.

Practices will enliven your connection to prana (life force). Dharma talks will help transform how you see the terrain of practice, yourself, and your life. Each session weaves together asana practice, pranayama, and meditation. We will illumine the terrain of how to see practice, self, and capacity in the world from the exalted seat of these teachings. Previous yoga highly recommended.
