Yogarupa, Rod Stryker is excited to offer an all new 5-day training,
part of the new ParaYoga Continuing Education Series.

To enroll in this training you must have completed the following PYMTs: Vinyasa Krama and Tantra.

Explore and experience the depth of Tantric Hatha Yoga–and some of its secret teachings–in this 5-day training.  The Gheranda Samhita is one of the three primary texts of hatha yoga along with the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Shiva Samhita, and considered by many to be the most comprehensive.  Each day, Yogarupa will lead practices that highlight the essential teachings of this classic text and share its luminous and powerful wisdom.

Topics Covered

The Gheranda Samhita, meaning “Gheranda’s collection”, is a manual of yoga taught by Gheranda to Chanda Kapali. Unlike other hatha yoga texts, the Gheranda Samhita speaks of a sevenfold yoga:

  • Shatkarma for purification
  • Asana for strengthening
  • Mudra for steadying
  • Pratyahara for calming
  • Pranayama for lightness
  • Dhyana for perception
  • Samādhi for isolation

Each day, Yogarupa will lead practices that highlight the essential teachings of this classic text and share its luminous and powerful wisdom. This five-day practice and teacher training intensive is designed to enrich dedicated practitioners, aspiring teachers, or those already teaching.

Morning sessions will weave together dynamic asana, vinyasa, pranayama, and meditation practices. They are dedicated to enlivening your awareness of, and your connection to, the power of the pranic realm, as well as transforming how you see your practice, yourself, and your capacity in the world.

Afternoon sessions will deepen our exploration through additional practices, lectures, meditations, and Q & A sessions.
