Registration is now open!

Guru Parampara is the culmination of the ParaYoga® Master Training Program. As the last of nine modules, its primary aim is to ensure that ParaYogis have a clear understanding and capacity to apply all ParaYoga® practices and techniques in both group and individual class settings.

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to attend this training, you must have completed 6 or more ParaYoga Master Trainings; of these 6, Vinyasa Krama and Kosha are required.  Additionally, participation in the Guru Parampara PYMT requires you to have enrolled in the PYMT program (meaning that we should have your Enrollment application, headshot, and application fee on file). If you have not done so, please do so as soon as possible.

In addition to a series of wide-ranging lectures, this training will also include case studies, opportunities to review of participants’ teaching skills that include practice teaching as well as group and individual presentations.

Throughout the training our emphasis is on guiding teachers to refine their skill and capacity, both as teachers and advanced practitioners. Guru Parampara promises to be a dynamic, intensive and transformative training.

Topics Covered

In addition to twice daily asana and meditation practices, the study curriculum includes some of the following subjects:
· Science of diagnosing and designing practices to meet individual needs.
· Growing your power and authority as a teacher
· Addressing the physical, emotional, and psychic limitations of your students
· The art of communication and intuition in one-on-one teaching
· Learning to overcome your obstacles to clear perception
· The art of teaching meditation
· Awakening the lineage of the Himalayan sages

Recommended Reading

The Power of Mantra and the Mystery of Initiation, by Pandit Rajmani Tigunait.

This book can be purchased on Amazon.  It is recommended that you read it before the workshop begins. For those of you interested in receiving course credit for your Level 1 or 2 Certification with ParaYogathe and/or the Yoga Alliance RYT program, the reading and its corresponding book report is mandatory.

In order to receive future credit toward RYT and/or ParaYoga® certification, your book report for the Guru Parampara training needs to be submitted to us (via email) within six weeks after the completion of the training.  You will not receive credit for submissions after the deadline; there are no make-up assignments.

Yogarupa also recommends that for that the month or two prior to the start of the training you begin or recommit to your meditation practice. It will be an invaluable aid to understanding the course curriculum as well as contributing to your overall experience of the training.

Looking for someone to share a ride and/or housing? Read on…
The best place to seek or offer ride or room share information for ParaYoga events is on the Facebook group page specially created for your training. This ParaYoga group page also serves as a forum for discussion and sangha (community) after the training.  ParaYoga room or ride share information will be available only on the Facebook group page, not on the website.  Here’s how to join the Facebook group:

Step 1: After you receive your email confirming your registration for the training, sign into your Facebook account and send a friend request to:

http://www.facebook.com/ParaYogaPages

Step 2: On Facebook, send ParaYoga Pages a personal message with your name, the name of your training, the location, and the date.

Step 3: Wait a few days and you will be added to a private, closed group on Facebook for your specific training.

Step 4: Connect with your ParaYoga sangha (community) for room and ride shares, any other pre and post training communication with the other students in this course and to build the energy leading up to the training!

Please note that the ParaYoga office is not responsible for connections made on these Facebook pages or for their content.

If you’re not using Facebook, we recommend that you sign up for this free service since this is the only place where ParaYoga room or ride share information will be available. Also, this private group is a great place to continue discussing what you’ve learned.
