Tantra Yoga Alchemy
A Weekend Workshop––Lighting the Twin Flame of Karuna and Prajna (Compassion and the Inner Teacher)
Saturday September 2nd – Sunday September 3rd
*Limited Enrollment*
“I am so pleased to be returning to Carbondale Colorado, my home for nearly 20 years. This will be my first time to teach in this amazing community since I moved two years ago. My intention is to focus on the teachings that I believe are the most essential for the times in which we all find ourselves.”
The past few years have challenged us all––physically, emotionally, and indeed, in our communities and relationships. To flourish, we need to turn to the most relevant, essential practices of yoga and tantra––those that can truly address our present needs i.e., that increase our resilience, and help build bridges toward greater understanding and well-being. Additionally, these practices must address our personal needs at the deepest levels and yet be utterly accessible.
Over the course of the weekend, we dive into the teachings of the yoga sutra (specifically, sutras 1:33-35), the practices that “illumine the heart.” These teachings provide profound guidance as well as specific practices for self-reflection and greater compassion for ourselves and others.
Please note: For those enrolled in the entire weekend, you are invited to two panel discussions. During lunch on Saturday and as part of our closing on Sunday, we’ll convene respected colleagues and teachers to share the practical and personal ways the teachings are most fully integrated in our life beyond practice. We’ll also touch on the dynamics of teaching in this post-pandemic world and the practical matter of living our highest ideals.
Rod will moderate the panel discussion and there will be opportunity for questions from those in attendance.
Saturday September 2nd Schedule:
Session 1 | 9:30 – 12:30pm
Resolving the Knot of Attachment (Brahma Grunthi)
Practice will emphasize establishing clarity and steadiness. Self-regulation and balancing our nervous system set the stage for “letting go,” a softening of attachment, on the way toward the remembrance of deep peace and freedom.
Panel Discussion | 1:30 – 2:30pm
Meeting This Moment Together: Cultivating Curiosity, Community & Strength A conversation with leading teachers and colleagues, this an opportunity to elevate our personal understanding as panelists share the practical aspects of living their yoga and teaching; they discuss their concerns, the gifts of practice, what they’ve learned from life’s challenges, and how to claim our humanity by heeding a call for renewed community.
Session 2 | 2:30 – 5:00pm
Illuminating the Heart––the Soul of Compassion
A specific sequence of asana and pranayama sets the stage for contemplation and meditation. Emphasis is on the renewal of your vital force and capacity to give and receive nurturance and love.
Sunday September 3rd Schedule:
Session 3 | 9:00 – 12:00 pm
Remembering Life’s Deeper Purpose––Dissolving Unconscious Patterns (Vishnu Grunthi)
A practice to ignite authentic aspiration and insight. The practice culminates in a specific contemplation and meditation that enlivens freedom from limiting belief and an opening into boundlessness.
Session 4 | 1:00 – 3:00pm
Assimilation and Balance––Renewing Self-Trust and Empowerment (Rudra Grunthi)
Our final practice emphasizes twists and postures that help us ground into the innate wisdom of body and mind––reestablishing somatic awareness. Specific techniques instill a clear and positive sense of the path ahead––how you will live your yoga and honor the best in yourself and one another.
Closing Session | 3:00 – 4:00pm
