AWAKENING THE TRUE POWER OF TANTRA with Rod Stryker
Yoga Flame Melbourne AU
February 17-19, 2017
The ancient tradition of Tantra maps the entire spectrum and sacred journey of Hatha Yoga. According to these teachings, there are three stages of practice: Moon, Sun and Fire. The wisdom of knowing when and how to apply these stages (and the unique practices related to each) is key to achieving lasting happiness and success––in other words, realizing the ultimate promise of yoga.
Join master teacher, Yogarupa Rod Stryker for an inspiring and potentially life-changing weekend that will expand and enliven your understanding of the practices and principles of yoga and tantra. Through his accessible and practical approach, you will experience the power, joy and possibilities that these teachings ultimately provide. Sessions will include theory as well as practice––dynamic asana, pranayama, bandha and meditation.
All levels welcome.

Supreme Practice, Supreme Life: Tantra Yoga and The Six Gems
“Para” means supreme, highest, the culmination of all effort. ParaYoga provides students of all levels access to the complete range and sacred power of Yoga. Its approach is rooted in the Six Gems, ancient concepts that unlock “supreme” accomplishment in practice as well as life. Through lecture and practice we overview the Six Gems and introduce the principles of how to ensure that your practice fulfills its potential and your individual needs.
Saturday AM 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Sun Practice: Awakening the Force of Transformation
We focus on the approach to practice that links us to and allows us to master prana, or life force. “Solar” energy increases vitality, subtle awareness, passion and power, and is the foundation for the final and most powerful stage of practice.
Saturday PM 2:30 – 5 PM
Moon Practice: Centering and Balancing
Activation of the lunar force creates healing, peace and wisdom, allowing you to remain calm in the midst of turbulence, steady in the midst of change. This is the key to mastering your mind and to awakening hidden intelligence and intuition.
Sunday 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Fire Practice: Discovering and Living the Ultimate Aim of Practice
The ultimate aim of Yoga is activation of the subtle force of fire––the force of spirit, that which unlocks extraordinary perception and capacity. Practice focuses on generating the energy that dissolves inertia and the final obstacles to the highest state of Yoga.
Sunday PM 2:30 – 5 PM
Yoga Nidra: Relax Into Greatness
Yoga Nidra is the sublime science of complete relaxation. Because of its unique capacity to transform all of the “layers” that the soul inhabits, yoga nidra is both a complete method for maximizing health and vitality as well as one of the tradition’s most profound and accessible ways to positively affect destiny. As it relates to yoga nidra, Rod outlines the theory of sankalpa, how thought is brought into form, and how this relates to the overall concept of dharma. Bring what you will need (blankets, a pillow, a thick mat, etc.) to rest comfortably on your back.
