Open to all dedicated students, the ParaYoga Master® Training (PYMT) is the heart of the ParaYoga® experience...
Whether you are a dedicated practitioner, aspiring to teach, or a seasoned teacher, the ParaYoga® Master Training provides an opportunity for all levels of students to experience and study the ultimate scope and life-changing promise of yoga. The ParaYoga® Master Training (PMYT) is more than a yoga teacher training program. Its scope, in-depth, and personal approach develops exceptional teachers and practitioners who embody and/or are able to lead others into Yoga as it was originally envisioned–the most comprehensive and life-affirming spiritual tradition ever created.
Master teacher and guide, Yogarupa Rod Stryker developed the PYMT from his nearly 30 years of discipleship and practice. Its comprehensive curriculum consists of nine 5-Day Training modules divided into four tiers: Foundation Tier, Progressive Tier, Elective Tier, and Final Tier. Each module systematically–through extensive practice and theory–leads you deep into the heart of a vital theme of the teachings of Yoga, Tantra and Veda. Collectively these Trainings lead you through as complete an exploration of the authentic tradition of yoga found anywhere.

The ParaYoga® Master Training curriculum offers two levels of ParaYoga® Teacher Certification––ParaYoga Level I Certified Teacher and ParaYoga Level II Certified Teacher. In addition, the PYMT program has been approved by Yoga Alliance as being at both 200-hour and 500-hour level Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) status. For a complete description of the requirements for ParaYoga® Certification and RYT, please visit the ParaYoga® Teacher Accreditation Requirements page.

The ParaYoga® Master Training program has been designed to allow you to study and to complete the program at your own pace and based on your particular interests. Many, if not most, of the modules are offered at least once a year in various locations around the United States and Europe. Students, and anyone wanting to participate in a ParaYoga® Master Training, are encouraged to begin the program with at least one module from the Foundation Tier. After completing a minimum of one of these trainings (Vinyasa Krama, Yoga Marma, or Yoga Sutra) you are able to continue with the program according to your own aspirations and needs.

There are no up-front fees or costs for the ParaYoga® Master Training. You only pay for each module in which you participate. Prices for individual modules vary depending upon location and venue. For specific costs, please refer to the Events page where you will find a complete schedule of upcoming ParaYoga® Master Training modules. ParaYoga® Certification generally requires a minimum of two years however, the time it takes varies depending upon how you choose to engage in the curriculum.

All levels of practitioners are welcome to participate in most of the 5-Day Trainings (others require the completion of previous trainings–see Training Program for more information). One does not need to want to teach in order to participate. Many of the trainings offer drop-in sessions in addition to the full, in-depth Training curriculum. This gives those new to ParaYoga® the opportunity to explore the richness and depth of ParaYoga® classses while studying with a master teacher.

Trainings also provide a chance to spend time with those who are similarly committed to making the most out of their practice and life. The sense of community and relationships that develops at individual Trainings continues in part through the Master Training Community Forums. After each training ParaYoga® provides a bulletin board for trainees to share their experiences, knowledge, and questions with fellow participants. These are specific for and limited to Training participants of each event.

Knowledge, practice, community, and lineage are the basis of what makes these trainings so meaningful for everyone who participates. ParaYoga® invites you to experience the power and benefits of its extraordinary approach to practice in the unique setting of a Master Training.
