A truly effective yoga practice is one that, by definition, leads to greater happiness and success, spiritual as well as worldly prosperity. According to the yoga tradition, the key to achieving this is that your practice honors who you are as an individual as well as the unique conditions of your life.

Rod Stryker––ParaYoga founder, master teacher, and mentor to many of Chicago's favorite teachers––returns to lead another inspiring, informative, and transformative workshop.

This weekend will explore the key principles to designing a personal practice and to ensure that your yoga is moving you toward greater happiness and success by applying Ayurveda (the science of life), classical Tantric Hatha yoga, and Jyana yoga (the yoga of self-understanding)––the subject of his new book, The Four Desires. All levels of students welcome.

Friday, 6-9pm, $50
Jyana Yoga and The Four Desires

In this workshop Rod outlines the practical and powerful approach to embodying our soul’s calling and to understand our obstacles to embodying it. Discussion will cover uncovering your soul’s purpose, the spiritual principles of shaping destiny, and achieving lasting freedom. Lecture, meditation, and light asana.

Tantra Yoga Alchemy: Ayurveda and the Vital Essences

Our focus is on the subtle force/essences of prana (expansion), tejas (luminosity), and ojas (vitality). We explore the principles of how to build them as well as how they empower asana, allow us to tailor these practices to individual needs, and to awaken highest potential. Classes will include two deepening asana, pranayama, and mediation practices.

Sunday all-day, 9am-4pm (with a 1-hr lunch break)
Awakening the True Power of Yoga: Sun, Moon, and Fire

The ancient tradition of Tantra maps the entire spectrum and sacred journey of Hatha Yoga. According to these teachings there are three stages to practice: Moon, Sun, and Fire. Knowing how and when to apply these practices, ancient wisdom tells us, is key to realizing the promise of yoga and to achieve lasting happiness and success. Class will include two deepening asana, pranayama, and mediation practices and highlight the progression of practices that lead us from the body to the mind, to energy, and ultimately to spirit.
