Friday, January 8, 1:00 - 4:00pm - Master Class: ParaYoga Vinyasa- Fire Practice

The Hatha Yoga tradition describes three distinct kinds of practice: Sun, Moon, and Fire. During this workshop we will explore what the ancient teachings say about these practices and how they should be sequenced so that they can lead the student /teacher to achieve the ultimate aim of yoga. Rod will detail each of these specific approaches and then lead a practice focusing on Fire – the force of Spirit. Centering around activating the dormant forces within the spine, practice will include a combination of accessible yet powerful asanas, bandhas, and mudras, combined with breath, chanting and visualization.

Friday, January 8, 6:30 - 9:00pm - ParaYoga: An Overview of the Three Vital Essences

Friday evening Rod will cover the key yogic teachings of ayurveda and the concept of yoga as alchemy. He will focus on the subtle essences: prana, tejas, and ojas. Each student will have the opportunity to explore the principles of how to use these essences to empower their own asana practice, teachings, tailor it to individual needs, and how to use them to activate higher potential.

Saturday, January 9, 9:30am - 12:30pm - Tejas - The Subtle Force of Inner Radiance

Practice focuses on the yogic techniques through which inner fire is stoked and the light of our personality is brightened. As tejas is increased the higher potential of perception is activated, along with the power to attract the conditions most suitable to success and growth. Specific postures and sequencing awaken this force that leads to illumination and transformation.

Saturday, January 9, 2:00 - 4:30pm
- Ojas - The Prime Vigor

The workshop focuses on the teachings of ayurveda and the yogic techniques that grow enduring vital force. Experience the practices (and the right approach to them) that nourish this subtle essence (which is the basis for all three vital essences) and that grow healing, vitality, potency and joy. Emphasis is on the poses and approach to meditation that build patience, sustained confidence, peace and compassion.

Sunday, January 10, 9:30am - 12:30pm -Prana - Prime Life Force

Practice focuses on the yogic techniques that build and balance the elemental force that governs expansion of mind, body, and psyche. Prana, as activated through the appropriate asanas and pranayamas, frees us from the pain of limitation and restriction, brings lightness to the body and boundless awareness.
